DynaBrass releases new CD on TOPOMO Records

Toledo, OH, April 24, 2020: TOPOMO Records announced the official release of “20/20 Polkas” a new full length recording by The DynaBrass. Last Friday, the recording was premiered in its entirety on the Polka Jammer Network to an overwhelming positive response. Special thanks to TGIFriday’s Mark Trzepacz & Cherie Cyrankowski Trzepacz and the Polka Nite Cap Show’s Todd Zaganiacz.

This recording was engineered by Gary Rhamy and recorded at Peppermint Recording Studios in Youngstown, Ohio.

The 20/20 Polkas CD is a collection of 15 songs, a dozen polkas, two waltzes and an oberek. This studio project features 1 all-time polka favorite and 14 songs never previously recorded by a polka band, including 4 originals by The DynaBrass, which gives this recording a fresh new polka sound.

As for the originals, Joe Zalewski and Kevin Adams teamed up for lead song “The Girls Just Wanna Dance”. Joe and Michael Costa put together a hot cut called “Nothing But Trouble”. A.j. Zalewski had the idea and Jim Mackiewicz Jr. arranged the driving minor instrumental, “Moscow Mule”. And Joe worked with Ted Lange and AJ to pen the original waltz, “Journey Of Love”.

You will find yourself singing along to many of these songs with catchy choruses and easy to remember lyrics like “Paint The Town”, “Someday You’ll Love Me”, “One Step Two Step”, “Walking on the Waves”, The Hangover” and a Buck Owens gem called “Who’s Gonna Mow Your Grass” Oberek.

Other songs that will grab your attention include Dale Kivinen’s rendition of the Brad Paisley hit “Alcohol”, a crowd participation drinking song in waltz tempo. Plus 3 songs with Polish vocals including “My Annie”, “Every Day at My Place” and “Play Me Some Music”. And the all-time classic “In Heaven There Is No Beer’ which features some original lyrics and a smokin’ sax solo to wrap up the CD.

Jeff Mleczko Update: Jeff is doing well. You may have heard that Jeff sang a couple songs with the DynaBrass last summer. And Jeff participated in the final mix of the 20/20 Polkas recording. While there is no timetable for his return to the stage, he continues to make progress with his rehabilitation efforts.

DynaBrass appearing on Friday & Saturday

Toledo, OH, March 17, 2020:  Holy Toledo Polka Days is scheduled for April 15, 16, & 17, 2021. Holy Toledo '21 will be held at the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel, located at 444 N Summit Street in Toledo, Ohio.  This Polka festival will feature the some of the top polka bands in the industry, including the host band The DynaBrass, plus  Lenny Gomulka & Chicago Push, The Knewz, Michael Costa & The Beat,  John Gora & Gorale, Polish Connection, Polka Country Musicians, Holy Toledo Jam Band and Polka DJ Kenny Olowin.  The Opening Night Polka Party will be held on Thursday April 15, 2021 from 8:00PM-11:00PM at the Clubhouse Lounge & Grille inside the Radisson Park Inn Hotel, located at 101 North Summit Street in Toledo. And the  The Tin Can Polka Party will be held on Friday, April 16, 2021 from 2:00PM until 5:00PM at the Tin Can Bar, located at 1 South Erie Street in Toledo. Both Venues are located within walking distance from the Renaissance Toledo Downtown Hotel.

DynaBrass Receives 2 IPA Awards 
Dance All Night wins Polish Style Song and Polish Style Polka Recording of the Year

Toledo, OH, April 25, 2018:  The DynaBrass has won the 2017 International Polka  Association (IPA) Award in 2 categories; Polish Style Song of the Year and Polish Style Polka Recording of the Year. 

The awards will be presented at the annual IPA Awards Banquet on Saturday September 1, 2018 in Cheektowaga, NY.

Dance All Night wins Song and Recording of the Year

 Toledo, OH, June 12, 2018:  The DynaBrass has won the 2017 United States Polka Association (USPA) Award in 2 categories; Song of the Year and Recording of the Year.

The awards were presented at the 42nd annual USPA Awards Banquet on Saturday May 26, 2018 during the USPA Convention & Festival held at the Holiday Inn in Independence, Ohio.

The “Dance All Night” CD, which was recorded at PowerBox Studio in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio,  received the 2017 USPA Recording of the Year, also nominated in this category were The Project “1st and Ten” and The Knewz “Holidayz”.  The title song “Dance All Night” received the 2017 USPA Song of the Year, also nominated in this category were The Project “Yermazah/Hold Me Tight” and The Knewz “That’s Christmas To Me”.

DynaBrass releases new CD on TOPOMO Records

Toledo, OH, June 15, 2017:  TOPOMO Records is excited to announce the release of “Dance All Night” a new full length recording by The DynaBrass. This new CD was recorded at PowerBox Studio in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio.

This new CD is a collection of 15 songs, a dozen polkas, two obereks and a waltz. This studio project features 10 songs never previously recorded by a polka band, including 7 originals by The DynaBrass, which gives this recording a fresh new sound. You will certainly find some polka favorites on this disc, such as “Playboy Polka”, “Out Til Dawn”, “Please Stop The World”, “Left Handed Oberek” and “Another Good Old Polka Medley”.

The title song “Dance All Night” has a very catchy melody with some built-in crowd participation. Based on early responses from live performances, “Dance All Night” is destined to be a fan favorite.

Joe Zalewski and Ted Lange teamed up for several original songs including “Follow Me To The Party”, “You Are Always With Me”, “A Bottle of Red Oberek”, “Hands Of Time” and the new DynaBrass break song “Follow Me To The Bar”, which is guaranteed to leave you walking away singing Bar, Bar, Bar, Bar. AJ Zalewski worked with Ted and Joe to pen another original (his first) entitled “A Simple Love”.

Other songs that will grab your attention include Dale Kivinen’s rendition of the Tracy Bird hit “Holdin’ Heaven, an Alabama classic, “Old Flame” and Isla Grant’s “An Accordion Started to Play Waltz”.
